The AMMC and the Australian Wooden Boat Festival (AWBF) have teamed up to offer an interesting program for the next AMMC Workshop in Hobart from Thursday 9th to Friday 10th February 2017.
The Workshop starts on Thursday morning (9th) and Thursday’s program will be followed by dinner in the evening with an AWBF-linked guest speaker on the subject of Dutch exploration of Australia, a theme of this year’s AWBF.
The workshop continues on Friday morning (10th) concluding at lunchtime so delegates can watch the Parade of Sail to launch the 2017 AWBF.
The Hobart workshop follows on from excellent progress made at the 2013 AMMC Conference in Brisbane where the membership agreed to collaboratively develop a national exhibition, The War at Sea travelling exhibition. This workshop will take the concept to the next stage: a first-of-its-kind permanent collaboration between the states and regional museums. Workshop delegates will help make it a reality.
Workshop registration costs have been kept as low as possible aimed only at recovering direct costs for the event.
The Workshop delegate fee, including refreshments and lunch on both days is just $50 per person.
Thursday evening’s two-course dinner with guest speaker and introductory glass of wine with the meal is $70 per person (the dinner is an optional event).
Reserve those dates now – 9-10 February 2017.
BOOK NOW or register your interest by sending an email to AMMC@anmm.gov.au
Program details will be sent directly to those who book and indicate interest and will also be published on the AMMC website and in the next newsletter.
Intending Workshop delegates should reserve their accommodation in Hobart soon as AWBF time is very busy.
